Objectives

The Finance Director will lead the financial strategy, planning, and management of the marketing agency, ensuring financial stability, profitability, and efficiency. This role involves overseeing financial operations, optimizing cash flow, and providing strategic insights to support business growth.

Job Description

1. Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the agency’s business goals.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to drive sustainable growth.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights to improve profitability and cost efficiency.

2. Financial Operations & Cash Flow Management

  • Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Optimize cash flow management, ensuring proper fund allocation for operations and investments.
  • Establish financial controls and risk management policies to safeguard company assets.

3. Business Performance Analysis

  • Conduct financial analysis, KPIs tracking, and variance analysis to guide decision-making.
  • Provide financial modeling and profitability analysis for client projects, pricing strategies, and marketing campaigns.
  • Support management with data-driven insights for optimizing agency operations and investments.

4. Client & Vendor Financial Management

  • Oversee revenue recognition, contract terms, and payment schedules with clients.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate payment terms, and optimize procurement efficiency.
  • Ensure proper invoicing, collections, and credit control to minimize financial risks.

5. Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, ensuring efficiency in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Develop financial policies, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with department heads to align financial objectives with operational strategies.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • 10+ years of financial management experience, preferably in a marketing, advertising, or service-based industry.
  • Experience working in an SME environment, managing finance functions independently.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition, pricing models, and project-based financial management.
  • Experience with cash flow optimization, cost control, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic agency environment.
