Objectives

We are looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial, data driven person with excellent problem solving skills to join us as a Global Development Director. At this position, you can enjoy working directly with the Board of Management and cross functionally (when needed) to achieve your goals while driving your workstreams independently forward. You will be the very first important piece of the puzzle to our dynamic global team, together conquering new challenges and driving outstanding business results for PMAX as a whole.

Job Description

Strategy development

  • Conduct related research to benchmark and hypothesize the strategic approaches for the global market.
  • Build and validate the strategy to break through the potential markets.
  • Set ambitious business objectives and development goals, and develop a detailed business plan for achieving set targets.
  • Monitor market trends, demand vs. supply, and make adjustments in terms of strategy and planning where necessary.

Foundation setting

  • Be the primary point of contact for market expansion planning communications across all levels of the organization.
  • Lead the execution and roll-out of PMAX’s global expansion footprint for a group of potential countries.
  • Research, build, and manage highly collaborative engagements with external service providers and partners to learn the markets and set up the foundations that guarantee the success of expansion operations.
  • Research the regulatory environment and the process to set up a global office.
  • Carry out desk reviews of sites, with on-site visits where necessary.
  • Arrange the translation of marketing materials where required as well as the development of other sales materials for each specific market.
  • Develop, document, and drive awareness of scalable processes and global best practices.

Team establishment

  • Design the org chart of the unit.
  • Drive and oversee the interviewing, recruitment, and training of qualified personnel to ensure an effective workforce.

Client acquisition

  • Develop plans and execute/lead the execution to acquire potential clients for the business unit.
  • Build and supervise the operations of the business development team for each market.

Performance management:

  • Control the budget of the business unit during the researching and setting up phases.
  • Oversee and execute on the day-to-day operation of the unit to ensure that the unit is meeting its goals.
  • Track and report market expansion status updates and continuously update timelines when changes occur, and proactively communicate to ensure cross team alignment.
  • Seek out data and deliver business insights/key learnings to help influence the path forward.

Job Requirements

Skills & Knowledge & Qualification

  • Must have
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years experience in the role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experienced in setting up global businesses or managing global expansion projects.
    • Business-level fluency in English (IELTS from 8.0 or equivalent).
    • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing.
    • Proven project management experience with a minimum of 1 year in the B2B field.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
    • Great multitasking skills and the ability to manage different priorities.
    • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
    • The capability to quickly build relationships with potential clients, partners, and suppliers.
    • Experienced in managing workload within a fast-paced time frame.
  • Good to have
    • Experienced in P&L management is a big plus.
    • Experienced in the Japan or Australia market is a big plus.
    • Exceptional leadership and management skills.
    • Experienced in sales or business development.
    • In-depth understanding with experiences in agency businesses.
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Powerpoint and Excel.
    • Strong adaptability, preferred experience in startup environment.
    • Experienced in leading business strategy, sales planning, and/or process optimization for large matrixed organizations.
    • Sufficient business acumen with strong influencing, persuading, and project management skills.
