Objectives

We are looking for a Strategy Director who has experience in developing brand and communications strategies, with a strong business acumen and a passion for developing impactful total marketing solutions. You will be the leader of our Strategy team, together driving outstanding business results for PMAX.

Job Description

  • Pitching & Client acquisition
    • Develop strategic solutions that address the client’s business challenges/ goals.
    • Develop and write briefs based on client briefs and to address any issues/opportunities clients may have.
    • Write creative briefs and propose creative directions to the creative team and provide input as needed during creative development to ensure that the strategic director is correctly translated into creative work.
    • Develop communication approach/plan.
    • Coordinate with Creative/Media/Account to detail out proposal details, media plan (budget KPIs …).
    • Present and manage client relationships to win the deals and maintain long-term collaboration.
    • Lead the research to derive insights, measure results of campaigns and to explore new opportunities for clients.
  • Product development
    • Build and continuously update the strategy products to offer to clients.
    • Support development of strategy planning tools and methodologies.
    • Continuously develop, test, and package the products/solutions to provide better values to clients.
  • Performance management
    • Manage department P&L
    • Supervise and direct the day-to-day operation of the function to ensure that the function is meeting its goals.
    • Monitor the plan & activities of the team members to ensure compliance with set standards and procedures for operation.
    • Conduct analysis to generate insight and recommend changes as may be required.
  • Team management
    • Build strategy program, including but not limited to team structure, system, process, frameworks, methodology, knowledge library, etc.
    • Oversee the interviewing, recruitment, and training of qualified personnel to ensure an effective workforce.
    • Set targets/KPIs for the whole function.
    • Conduct analysis to improve

Job Requirements

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must have
    • Excellent problem solving capability
    • More than 5 years of experience, having a strategic planning background with strong advertising/creative/IMC expertise
    • Hands-on experience in planning at every stage of brand and communication strategy
    • Keen interest and experience in analyzing marketing problems, brand tracking research and spotting opportunities to develop the brand
    • A solid background in developing brand and communications strategies across a variety of client sectors and marketing channels both on and offline
    • A strong understanding of core best practice strategic planning skills and tools
    • Comprehensive understanding of the changing marketing landscape and new digital engagement techniques
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good to have
    • Experience as a senior Planning role within an integrated marketing communications (IMC) agency or research agency is a big plus
    • Understanding of business and marketing strategy
    • A good knowledge of research and media
    • Track record of building team(s) and people
    • Experience in P&L management
